As we prepare for SAFe 5.0 upgrade, you might be thinking when this is going to happen, how should i read about it and prepare for my upgrade exams, by when this will be rolled out, what to do in case i have questions and i am not clear about certain stuff..
Then, stop worrying as you have come to the right place.

First things first, now that SAFe 5.0 is here, what happens to my SAFE 4 certifications?
Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) 5.0 will launch on January 7, 2020. Your SAFe 4 certification is not being retired. However, you will have the option to upgrade to SAFe 5.0. If you upgrade to SAFe 5.0, you will not lose your SAFe 4 certification.

What happens if I don’t upgrade to SAFe 5.0?
Any active certifications will remain valid until the date of expiration. Certifications expire annually if they are not renewed. You can renew your SAFe® 4 certification for a fee.
However, it is highly recommended that you take advantage of the free upgrade path offered (for current SAFe 4 members) to the latest Framework and new tools. Scaled Agile always support the version immediately preceding the current version, so the Framework and courseware for 4.6 will be available until the next update or upgrade.
Is there a cost associated with the SAFe 5. 0 upgrade process?
No, if you are a member of the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) Community Platform with an active SAFe 4 certification, the SAFe 5.0 Upgrade Learning Plan provides two free attempts to take and pass the required exam. If additional attempts are needed, the standard exam retake fee applies, which you have to pay directly to scaled agile.
Is there an upgrade path from 4.0, 4.5, or 4.6 to 5.0?
Anyone with a Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) 4 certification in good standing can upgrade to SAFe 5.0 at no cost via the SAFe 5.0 Upgrade Learning Plan under the My Learning tab within the SAFe Community Platform.
After you pass the upgrade exam, all of your active SAFe 4 certifications will automatically update to SAFe 5.
What is the path for SPCs and SPCTs to upgrade from 4.0, 4.5, or 4.6 to 5.0?
Anyone with a Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) 4 certification in good standing can upgrade to SAFe 5.0. SAFe 5.0 is in preview mode until officially launched in January 2020. SPC's will have access to the learning plans in December 2019 and all other certified members in January 2020.
When available, logging in to your profile will give you access to the SAFe 5.0 Upgrade Learning Plan under the My Learning tab. There is one exam to upgrade all valid certifications to SAFe 5.0. You will have two attempts to take and pass the exam, at no cost to you. Any additional attempts will be at the standard retake fee for exams.
SAFe Program Consultant Trainers (SPCTs) are also required to attend the Implementing SAFe® 5.0 master class.
If I am scheduled for a 4.5 or 4.6 course within three months before SAFe 5.0 goes live, should I wait to take 5.0?
There is no reason to wait to take Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) 5.0 classes if you are already registered for a 4.5 or 4.6 class.
If your SAFe 4 certification is current, you will be eligible for an upgrade path to SAFe 5.0 at no additional charge. You will be required to take the upgrade exam for 5.0 to upgrade your certification.
